Its gardening time
Now a day’s everyone’s lifestyle is hard & turned upside down with this Corona Pandemic (COVID19).
Since the virus is simply too strong for us, all social distancing rules are taking place.
Here in Sri Lanka, we were locked down continually for 48 days.
While counting days when we would be allowed to go out with family again, we were thinking to do something to say goodbye to this boring time.
Finally, we have decided to put a step out & rearrange the home garden.
Rearrange our Garden
We already have some flower plants which are in need of little take care.
So first we removed weeds in the flower pots, removed diseased plants, added some fertilizer, replace it in a place where enough sunlight is provided & watered every day.
So after a few days, the flower garden appears as a real flower garden.
Vegetables
Secondly, we planned for a vegetable garden.
But we don’t have seeds, plants, or a shop opened to purchased the needs. So collected leftovers like seeds & sticks of our day to day vegetables.
searched for a space to prepare the garden beds & little corners in our land were suited.
Accordingly, we removed weeds & arranged the soil
added homemade compost & spread seeds & sticks
daily watered & checked if any weeds or bugs.
Finally planted Tomatoes, Bitter gourd, Lady’s fingers, Chilies, Water Spinach, Pennywort, Sessile joy weed, Garlic, Pumpkin, Leeks, Nitty Grits, Eggplants & Manioc in our little home garden.
It feels good to accomplish new tasks. Once we finished planting, we enjoyed every day while maintaining the same. As a family, we built up unity, enjoyed ourselves as well as the environment with freshness on mind & relaxation.
We already have Papaw trees, a banana & a jack fruit tree in our garden hence Bitter gourd, Ladyfingers, Tomatoes & Eggplants grown up faster than we thought & gave us the chance to fill up our baskets. It’s really true that good days give happiness, bad days give experience, the worst days give lessons & the best days give memories.
How much we are busy, we determined to continue this project & plant our needy vegetables at home. We enjoyed ourselves as well as the environment with freshness on mind & relaxation.
