Today, I want to share with you one of my dreamy vacations at the breathtaking beach resort called Jetwing Surf, located in Pottuvil, near Arugambay on the stunning East coast of Sri Lanka. Trust me, this place is worth the 388 km drive (around 7 hours) from my home!

Jetwing Surf : A Serene Beach Haven

Now, let me share my personal experience at Jetwing Surf.

While most people flock to Arugambay and Pottuvil for their epic surfing adventures, I’m more of a beach lover. I’m not really into surfing because, to be honest, it kind of scares me. But that didn’t stop me from falling head over heels for Jetwing Surf after stumbling upon it online while searching for beautiful Sri Lankan beaches.

During our visit, my husband surprised me by booking two nights at this marvelous hotel for my birthday.

Warm Hospitality & Memorable Moments

From the moment we arrived, the staff welcomed us warmly. They were incredibly friendly, helpful, professional, and attentive. My little one quickly became best buddies with them, and she was so impressed that she refused to leave the hotel on our last day.

To add to the surprise, the staff presented me with a lovely little birthday cake during our dinner. It was an unforgettable moment, and I owe my heartfelt thanks to my husband and the amazing staff at Jetwing Surf.

Embracing Nature & Sustainability

Now, let’s talk about this beautiful hotel. Jetwing Surf is a peaceful boutique resort consisting of 20 eco-friendly cabanas. When my little one saw the unique structures of these cabanas, she compared them to “piggy houses,” LOL reminding her of the story of the Three Little Piggies and the Big Bad Wolf. It was quite adorable!

The cabanas are meticulously designed using natural materials like coconut, palm, illuk leaves, and even coconut shells. The outdoor bathing area is a delightful touch.

Jetwing has done an excellent job with their sustainable and eco-friendly theme. The cabanas don’t have air conditioners, but fans are available, and honestly, it fits well with their concept. The only minor issue we encountered was the mischievous squirrels who would try to steal our food, even if we kept it inside our backpacks. Luckily, the staff informed us about this upon arrival, and I had a well-sealed food container to protect my little girl’s snacks. Additionally, the hotel provided anti-insect vaporizers to combat mosquitoes and other tiny insects, solving that problem too.

Beach bills & unexpected guests

Although the daytime heat was intense, the sea breeze made it much more bearable. The early mornings and nights were refreshingly cool, thanks to the lovely ocean breeze.

The beach was nothing short of picturesque, and we could spend hours playing in the waves and swimming to our heart’s content. Time seemed to slip away as we soaked up the sun and enjoyed the ocean breeze. The infinity pool overlooking the ocean was also a fantastic spot to relax and take in the stunning views.

We even had some unexpected visitors in the form of goats and cows from the surrounding area, who would wander around the hotel, sometimes even near our cabana. My little one absolutely loved seeing them and even had the chance to play with some adorable baby goats. It was a unique experience for all of us

Culinary delights

Let’s not forget about the food! The dining experience at Jetwing Surf was beyond superb. The food was delicious, and the presentation was elegantly done. The chef himself came over to talk to us and showed genuine concern for our little one’s meals. He even offered some special off-menu pasta and burgers that were a hit with my kid.

Farewell & Return: An Eager Promise

In conclusion, our vacation at Jetwing Surf was simply wonderful, and two nights felt like too short a stay at this amazing place. Each one of us had a unique and enjoyable experience, and we’re already eagerly planning to return for a much longer visit.

I highly recommend that you all give this beautiful place a visit and experience its uniqueness for yourselves.
